The Estates Wine Room is an urban tasting room is in the historic Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle. The chic wine bar offers tiered tasting flights, glass pours and small plates of charcuterie and cheese. The Estates Wine Room showcases Double Canyon and Archery Summit, as well as Seven Hills Winery which was recently acquired by Crimson Wine Group.
Flights of Pinot Noir, Cabernet and other Bordeaux varietal red wines produced by these “sister” wineries truly complement each other.
Double Canyon’s vineyard manager, Will Beightol, works a stone’s throw from where he originally grew up on his family’s Phinny Hill Vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA.
“Our philosophy at Double Canyon is to deliver best-of-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington,” Will told Tasting Room Magazine. The 2012 Cab is concentrated and elegant, crafted entirely from estate fruit.
Chris Mazepink is the winemaker for Archery Summit, responsible for all vineyard and winemaking operations. Located in Oregon’s Dundee Hills (a sub-appellation of the Willamette Valley) they are known for Pinot Noir sourced across six estate vineyards. The Arcus Estate Pinot Noir is gorgeous now, and will only continue to improve with cellar aging.
The wines featured below, along with offerings from Seven Hills Winery, can be tasted at The Estates Wine Room, open daily at 307 Occidental Ave South in Seattle.
