Specializing in Bordeaux varietal blends, the Seattle-based OS Winery recently relocated to the Georgetown neighborhood just south of downtown.
“The new location and tasting room is more convenient for our customers and gives us the opportunity to create new relationships with those who are new to our wine,” says second-generation owner Peggy Sullivan, who has been involved with the winery since the first crush in 1997.
Founded by her father and retired banker, Rob Sullivan and Bill Owen with less than two tons of Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery has grown to an annual production upwards of 3,000 cases. From the start, the emphasis has been on Bordeaux style red blends, although they have produced head-turning Kabinett style Rieslings as well.
They have long sourced fruit from the acclaimed Yakima Valley Sheridan Vineyard managed by Scott Greer, who is also OS’s winemaker. “This collaboration allows us to control every aspect of our wines from vine to glass,” says Peggy.
