This reserve-tier Coyote Canyon Vineyard wine is a Super Rioja style, blended from third-generation grower Mike Andrew’s estate-grown Tempranillo and Graciano. Andrews grew up with a love for family, farming and especially that of raising Registered Hereford cattle. His reserve label is called H/H, the brand his family once used to brand the left hip of the female cattle, which stood for Horse Heaven Hereford ranch. Today the H/H brand has been resurrected to represent the Horse Heaven Hills AVA; Andrews has planted 25 varietals of grapes on ground that was once used for producing crops for cattle and other row crops.
Nose: Appealing aromas of dark red fruit with currant, tobacco, leather, sweet spice and mineral notes.
Taste: Smooth, lively and dense with juicy rich flavors of dark cherry, savory cranberry sauce and juniper berries, leading to complex tobacco, caramel, and mineral spice on the finish.
