When vintner and outdoor enthusiast Stephanie Jones at Glacier View Cellars calls someone a dirtbag, it’s a term of endearment for fellow nature fans who hold an appreciation for bold, hand-crafted wines. An avid hiker, many of Stephanie’s vegetarian-friendly wines are named after her favorite trails in the Pacific Northwest.
In fact, members of the winery’s “Dirtbagger Wine Club” are shipped wine at resupply points along the Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian or Continental Divide Trail. Members also receive a 40% discount on all wines during their thru-hike. There are other wine club options too, such as the Day Hiker Club and Overnighter Club.
This red wine was named after the rough and tumble ascent to Gothic Basin, a trail that is not always easy but offers tremendous rewards for those venture on the journey.
