Below are two releases we recently reviewed:
Prohibition Cellars 2020 Stillwater Creek Vineyard Viognier, 91 pts.
Lovely aromatics offer enticing melon, honeysuckle, white flowers and warm scents of leesy spice. A lively yet concentrated style, with flavors of Fuji apple, white peach and starfruit wrapped around rapier acidity and distinctive chalky minerality. $30
Prohibition Cellars 2020 Columbia Valley Rosé, 90 pts.
Crafted mostly from Pinot Noir grapes (60%) this gets a boost with the addition of five other red varieties that lend a much weightier structure than the typical Rosé. Rich on the palate, with a fruit-forward profile of wild strawberries, cherry and dried currants framed with leather and white pepper. Mouthwatering acidity keeps the savory aspects fresh and lively through the finish. $25
