Find your soulful pathway in the art of moving meditation with an instructor-led yoga session in a winery or vineyard
“Yoga literally means union or to bring together,” instructor Jackie Elliott tells Washington Tasting Room magazine. “The posture part of yoga is like a moving meditation, syncing the breath and movement together.”
Jackie teaches yoga classes in the estate vineyard at Bainbridge Vineyards. She says she loves teaching outdoors because nature enhances the yoga experience of being aware of the moment. “It teaches us we can bring that awareness practice with us wherever we go, expanding our yoga practice off our mat and into the world,” she says.
You can find her classes listed at the winery’s Facebook page or check around for yoga activities at other wineries in your region, often held in the quiet environs of a barrel-aging room followed by, you guessed it, wine tasting.
