Woodinville, Wash. – Woodinville Wine Country’s popular St. Nick’s Open House weekend is the perfect time to stock up on wine for holiday gift giving, parties and special celebrations, but the logistics of lugging a case of wine around while tasting can be challenging. To solve a shopper’s dilemma, Woodinville Wine Country is adding a “wine valet” to this year’s open house weekend. Shoppers simply purchase their wine, select one of two convenient locations for pick-up at their leisure, then continue enjoying their tasting.
Tickets are on sale now to St. Nick’s Open House Weekend, Sat., Dec. 7 – Sun., Dec. 8 from 11 am – 4 pm. More than 30 Woodinville wineries are participating in this year’s 13th annual event that offers guests a festive opportunity to discover new wineries, meet the winemakers and stock up on holiday wines. A two-day pass is $65; a Sunday-only pass is $50. Tickets are available at Brown Paper Bag. As always, a designated driver is encouraged and welcomed at no charge.
Wine valet pick-up points will be available in west Woodinville at Brian Carter Cellars and in north Woodinville’s Warehouse District in the 144th St. winery area. “It’s our way of giving guests a merry and ‘light’ holiday weekend,” quips Woodinville Wine Country director Sandra Lee. “No more lugging wine from place to place!”
St. Nick’s wine weekend gets underway Friday, December 6, 2013 with a Holiday Wine Tasting under one roof at Columbia Winery in Woodinville featuring award-winning wines and savory bites from more than 30 Woodinville wineries. Tickets to the Friday night tasting are sold separately and may be purchased at Brown Paper Bag.
Conveniently located 25 minutes northeast of downtown Seattle, Woodinville is home to 100 Washington wineries and tasting rooms. More information on St. Nick’s is available at woodinvillewinecountry.com.
