Back for its sixth straight year, Wine Rocks Seattle will take place Thursday, July 11, 6-10pm at Elliott Hall at Pier 66 overlooking Puget Sound. More than 35 Washington wineries, breweries and distilleries will be on hand at the event. A handful of local food trucks, including Jemil’s Big Easy, Lumpia World, Marination Mobile, Monte Cristo and Sweet Wheels, will be serving guests right on the pier.
“We’ve come a long way in since our first event in 2008,” says Jen Doak, founder of Wine Rocks Seattle. “What started out as an event to promote a guitar retail showroom has grown into a must-attend summer event helping support local charities.”
Throughout the evening select Washington winemakers and friends will take the stage to share their passion for music. This year’s featured winemakers/musicians include:
• Darren Des Voigne (Des Voigne Cellars)
• Chip McLaughlin (Vinyl Wines)
• Victor Palencia (Jones of Washington)
• Gordy Rawson (Chatter Creek Winery)
• Jamie Brown (Walla Walla Valley Winemaker)
• Rob Newsom (Boudreaux Cellars)
“Wine Rocks Seattle provides wineries a relaxed, fun and non-traditional opportunity at connecting with their consumers and creating new relationships,” says Doak. Tickets to Wine Rocks are $35 and can be purchased at BrownPaperTickets.com. This year’s Wine Rocks event benefits Food Lifeline, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington. Food Lifeline stocks the shelves and fills the tables of 275 food banks, meal programs and shelters throughout the region. The 35 million pounds of nutritious food the organization secures from restaurants, grocery stores, farmers and manufacturers feeds 745,000 hungry people every year.
