Tulalip Bay Restaurant, the fine dining showpiece of the Tulalip Resort Casino’s Food and Beverage program, was honored with the inaugural “Seattle Magazine Award at the 10th annual Washington Wine Restaurant Awards. The award, accepted by Sommelier Tom Thompson, was presented on March 26, 2012 at the Washington Athletic Club and paid homage to the restaurant’s leadership in the business community. “I was absolutely taken aback” said a beaming Thompson. “It is an incredible tribute to the Washington wine industry and the quality of the wines we have to work with, Tulalip Bay and the Resort as a whole – and to be the first recipient, well, that makes the award doubly precious.”
Tulalip Bay also received the Washington Wine Grand Award, presented to restaurants considered industry leaders in support of the Washington wine industry. Judges evaluate restaurants on a variety of criteria, including wine list, service and staffing, promotions and overall wine philosophy. It joined the ranks of a handful of state luminaries such as Canlis, El Gaucho, and Daniel’s Broiler.
Sister restaurant Blackfish Wild Salmon Grill and Bar, took home a Washington Wine Award of Distinction. It joined more than thirty restaurants recognized for having shown dedication and commitment to the Washington wine industry.
The Tulalip Resort Casino hosts the annual Taste of Tulalip wine and food event, which will be held this year on November 9 and 10, 2012.
