Just in time for holiday cheer, Tinte Cellars Georgetown will come to life with the opening of the new tasting room and event space today located on Airport Way South in Seattle. As the patio gates swing open and wines are uncorked, Tinte Cellars will be welcoming guests with a pour of their “Raise the Roof” Rosé.
Tinte Cellars was founded in Woodinville, WA. (Editor’s note: Read the full article and current wine reviews about this philanthropic winery published in the Fall 2020 issue of the magazine.) The winery’s production facility will remain in Woodinville, and Tinte will continue to welcome guests at its two Woodinville tasting rooms as well.
The Georgetown tasting room will open initially for limited outdoor covered wine tasting and curbside wine pick-up. Visitors are asked to make a reservation, although same day appointments will often be available.
“In honor of our grand opening, all wine tasting guests will receive a welcome pour of our 2019 Tinte Cellars ‘Raise the Roof’ Rosé,” says Teresa Spellman Gamble, who co-owns Tinte Cellars along with her husband, Tim Gamble. “This special limited-edition Rosé commemorates the uplifting renovation of our historic Georgetown building.”
Grand Opening Food, Art & Commemorative Rosé
All wine-tasting guests will receive a welcome pour of Tinte’s 2019 Tinte Cellars “Raise the Roof” Rosé when they visit the tasting room in December. In addition, all customers who purchase at least one bottle of wine during December will receive a bottle of Tinte’s 2019 Tinte Cellars “Raise the Roof” Rosé (limited to one per transaction).

A New Face in Seattle’s Historic Georgetown Neighborhood
Housed in a historic building dating back to 1912, Tinte Cellars Georgetown restored the landmark structure’s integrity to deliver an authentic experience that respects the storied past and traditional winemaking and facilitates collaboration with the robust Georgetown creative culture.
By maintaining the historical exterior aesthetic and bones of the building and updating the interior with a balance of refined elegance and rustic influences, Tinte Cellars has created a welcoming space to invite visitors and has provided ample space and lighting to feature rotating works of local artists.
Designed for flexibility to accommodate comfortable, regular wine tastings and special functions, the 1600-square-foot interior space draws guests through the front door and out onto the 700-square-foot back patio through a tall glass garage door creating a seamless transition from the indoors to the outdoors. Steel and iron gates open the rear patio area to Nebraska Street. A well-appointed catering kitchen will help facilitate events of up to 100 guests on-site.
Restoration work and the addition of reclaimed timber beams, concrete floors, and sleek cabinetry were skillfully orchestrated by Menter Byrne Architects, Krekow Jennings Inc., and Color & Design Studio LLC.
Over the last century, the now revitalized Tinte Cellars Georgetown was previously home to a general store, a folk art shop, and a butchery and smokehouse. It was recently a notable scooter sales and service shop whose iconic rooftop scooter has been saved, restored, and has once again assumed its rooftop perch, albeit with a proud new paint job.
“Tinte Cellars Georgetown is a natural extension and part of our plan to weave our philanthropic social mission of Great Wine for the Greater Good into the fabric of the community,” Spellman Gamble says. “Our goal is for Tinte Georgetown to be used by nonprofits to further their missions and the important work they do throughout Washington State and also by local patrons to come together and celebrate the best things life in the area has to offer.”

About Tinte Cellars
In June of 2018, co-owners and husband and wife team, Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman Gamble, daughter of the late Washington State Governor John Spellman, purchased Woodinville’s William Church and Cuillin Hills wineries creating the umbrella brand, Tinte Cellars.
Community, volunteerism, and philanthropy formed the foundation of Tim and Teresa’s upbringings; their culture. When they established Tinte Cellars, the business needed to reflect those values and their desire to leave the world better than they found it.
Each year, Tinte Cellars selects a few nonprofit organizations to receive a portion of all wine sales (right off the top). In 2020, five percent of all retail sales and 10% of all wine club sales will be split equally between Mary’s Place, Northwest Harvest, and Seattle Children’s Behavioral Health Crisis Care Clinic. In addition, Tinte invests in a wide range of programs and activities to enable its customers, employees, and partners to amplify their own positive impact on the world. In October 2020, Tinte’s philanthropic commitment of cash and in-kind donations to local nonprofits exceeded $347,000.
