May 2014 — Celebrating its sixth anniversary this November, the Taste of Tulalip brings different elements of surprise and wonderment to event goers with every passing year. For wine and food lover’s, it’s like Christmas arriving about six weeks early. Here’s an article that details some of the magic from the 2012 Taste of Tulalip and a preview of the 2013 Taste of Tulalip. And looking back further into our archives, we found a short video our staff put together for the 2011 Taste of Tulalip. But what you really need to know is that tickets are now on sale for the upcoming 2014 Taste of Tulalip.

This has grown to be one of the Pacific Northwest’s most sought after wine & food events (and Tasting Room Magazine’s editor’s choice for the region’s #1 international wine event), this year will undoubtedly be another sell-out. “Buy early; get in,” says Tulalip Resort Casino President/COO Ken Kettler. He is referring to the line of disappointed Taste of Tulalip fans that were unable to enjoy the award-winning November weekend of wine, food and tradition, as the 2013 event sold out. Seats for the Friday, November 14 celebration dinner may be purchased by phoning 360-716-6888 and the ticket passes for the Saturday, November 15 events are linked here to Ticketmaster.
Below is a glimpse of the excitement planned for 2014 (if you’re one of the fortunate to get ticket passes before they sell out).
The weekend kicks-off Friday night with a multi-course Celebration Dinner, prepared by Executive Chef Perry Mascitti and his team, paired with premium wines from around the globe selected by sommelier Tommy Thompson. Seating is limited to 400 guests. Saturday is filled with a plethora of wine and food demos, chef challenges, a wine seminar, a VIP Magnum party and is capped with the Grand Taste — featuring over 120 wineries from Washington, Oregon, California, New Zealand and Germany, along with a craft beer “pool garden.” Even though the venue is immense with a vast capacity, the attendance will be limited to 2,000 people.
Taste of Tulalip’s 2014 culinary guest stars include public television show host and producer Ming Tsai along with wine columnist, author and educator Anthony Giglio. Both will be featured at events throughout the weekend. The honorary winemaker is Woodinville Wine Cellars maestro Sean Boyd. Local Fox Q13 television celeb Bill Wixey returns for a second year as guest emcee and will be joined by fellow team member Kaci Aitchison.
Tickets are priced at:
- Celebration Dinner $195
- All Access Saturday Pass $350
- Grand Taste $95
EDITOR’S TIP: Savor all this event has to offer with a weekend getaway or one-night retreat at the resort casino, but be sure to book your hotel room early because they get snatched up fast. Hotel rooms (and spa appointments) during this two-day extravaganza become as scarce as hen’s teeth. You can book reservations online at www.tulalipresort.com or phoning 1-866-716-7162.
