Syrah is heralded as one of Washington’s best varietals and the ever-popular 15th Annual Sexy Syrah returns to Salty’s on Alki Beach, one of Seattle’s hottest view restaurants, from 6-9pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016.
“Syrah is seducing wine enthusiasts who have an affection for red wines with bold spices, rich fruit and silky texture,” says Sommelier David LeClaire, who co-produces the event with Salty’s Sommelier Tim O’Brien. “Salty’s goes overboard with a generous array of foods and there’s a great lineup of over 35 wineries.”
Salty’s Executive Chef Jeremy McLachlan presents an ambitious menu of appetizers designed to showcase Syrah’s outstanding affinity for food. Passed appetizers include brisket sliders and crostini, and the buffet table will offer beef shank ragu and roasted leg of lamb, among other ohhh-so-perfect-for-Syrah pairings. This year, several wineries will also be pouring Syrah-based blends and refreshing Rosés made with Syrah.
