The much-anticipated Reserve House (located next to Woodward Canyon Winery) restaurant is now open seasonally, May through October, Friday through Sunday from 11:30am-3pm, and features dishes from Chef Arturo Tello. Arturo was sous chef last year and will soon graduate from the Wine Country Culinary Institute. Offering a restaurant option on the West side of Walla Walla, the small, flavorful lunch plates highlight the homegrown Lazy S Arrow Produce raised at the base of the Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard.
Chef Arturo has created a tasty lunch menu at Woodward Canyon’s Reserve House.
The restaurant offers interior seating at communal tables or individual tables on the covered porches with views of the garden and neighboring vineyard.
The restaurant represents a return of sorts to Woodward Canyon founder Rick Small’s agricultural roots. Small grew up on a ranch in Woodward Canyon, where his family grew grains and vegetables, and raised beef and hogs.
Small’s wife and Woodward Canyon General Manager, Darcey Fugman-Small, said in an announcement the many elements work together to create a truly local experience.
“Our wine is made to accompany food and we are growing this incredible produce, so the decision to share those both onsite seemed to be a natural progression, as did the decision to procure much of our ingredients locally,” she said. “It really puts an exclamation point on the sense of place that makes the Walla Walla Valley so special.”
The menu varies weekly and will feature other local, fresh products.
The Reserve House restaurant is located next to Woodward Canyon Winery at 11920 West Highway 12 in Lowden, WA. For more information, or to make reservations, please call the winery at (509) 525-4129.
