Tulalip Resort Casino, in collaboration with Wine Spectator, Cigar Aficionado, Cusano Cigars, Graham’s Port and Riedel glass, is pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Taste of Tulalip will take place November 12-13, 2010 at Tulalip Resort Casino.
On Saturday, November 13, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a VIP Tasting, wine education and lifestyle seminars, and the Grand Taste where more than 60 Washington State and 20 Napa Valley wineries will pour samples and sell their most popular labels.
The VIP Taste, taking place in Canoes Cabaret from 11am to 12:30pm, is a seminar consisting of a structured Riedel glass comparison tasting with four wines. Hosted by Joel Simon of Riedel Crystal, the event features a brief history of Riedel, tasting and comparison instructions, a complimentary glass set for each attendee, antipasti buffet and early entrance into the Grand Taste. The VIP Taste is $95 per person.
Wine Education and Lifestyle Seminars will be conducted by some of the nation’s top guest consultants covering enology and related viticultural topics. From 1-2pm, Gwendolyn Osborn of Wine Spectator will lead “Syrah Superstars” at a cost of $20 per person. Mark Mondavi of Charles Krug Winery will lead a seminar titled “CK Mondavi Vertical and Blending” from 3 to 4pm. and the cost is $40 per person. The final featured class will be “Port 101” presented from 5 to 6pm. by Christine Solga Bradburn of Premium Ports Inc. and is $20 per person.
The main event of Taste of Tulalip, the Grand Taste, will take place from 2 to 7pm in the Orca Ballroom. Guests will taste award-winning varietals from Pacific Northwest and Napa Valley wineries and experience exceptional food and wine pairings from Tulalip chefs. Quickfire challenges will pit the resort’s chefs against one another at 2:30 and 4pm with an awards ceremony at 5:30pm. The cost for admission to the Grand Taste is $45 per person.

Founded in 1983 by grape growing pioneer Jerry Bookwalter, Bookwalter Winery has a long, rich history of producing exceptional wines from some of Washington State’s finest vineyards. The Winery is now owned and operated by second generation winemaker John Bookwalter whose focus is on high quality, small production red wines from the Red Mountain and Columbia Valley appellations.
