Bob Delf, owner of Northwest Cellars, is focused on helping schools earn extra money for education in 2011. Through his custom-designed label wine bottle program, Delf helped raise nearly $9,000 from the sale of his wines for Assumption – St. Bridget School in Seattle.
How did they do it? Northwest Cellars challenged 60 third-grade students to create original artwork from which 60 different labels were made. Parents, friends, and relatives attended a wine tasting event, ordered bottles of wine with the custom labels, and sold them at their fundraising auction in early December of last year.
Jen Yerkes, a Room Parent at Assumption – St. Bridget School says “We were so glad we found Northwest Cellars to help us with our custom wine label auction project. The children had so much fun creating their own labels and the wines were very high quality. Northwest Cellars was very easy to work with. And most importantly, the project raised almost $9,000 for our school!”
Delf goes on to say that this kind of program will work for any non-profit trying to raise money. “We make very high quality wine, and also like to help give back to the community – this is a great way for us to do that.”
