Cashmere, Wash. – June 1, 2015 – Approached by the Cashmere Chamber of Commerce to head the Main Stage Entertainment, and the Beer and Wine Garden, the North Central WA Wine Country will play a pivotal role to reinvigorate the Founders’ Day Celebration in Cashmere. The Main Stage Entertainment will be an attraction within the larger Founder’s Day Celebration event with other activities such as a Grand Parade, Kids Play Area and the annual Ping Pong Ball Drop, which is held at the Cashmere Riverside Park.
The Cashmere Founder’s Day was created in 1979 with the vision of a group of dedicated business and community leaders. The community celebration honors members of Cashmere’s Founding Families who first settled the region and offers a variety of activities designed to please community members and visitors alike. In 2014, the Cashmere Chamber of Commerce invited the burgeoning wine association to produce the beer and wine garden. In 2015, that role expanded to the Main Stage Entertainment production. “Our association heavily supports our local community and we could not have been more pleased to be asked to join this long standing celebration. As a winery cultivated alliance of strong innovative partnerships, we rely on the professional members in our association such as Robert Sandidge from RLS Productions to make this leap to present attractive musical performances at the Founder’s Day Celebration on a professional stage,” explains Becky Driscoll, Executive Director for North Central WA Wine Country.
The June 27th Founder’s Day Celebration begins with the Grand parade at 2pm which leads the revelry though historic Downtown Cashmere and ends at the Cashmere Riverside Park where activities such as the Kids Play area, Ping Pong Drop, Food Vendors, Main Stage and Beer and Wine Garden will operate until 9pm with a Firework Show beginning at 8:30pm. The Main Stage acts are Pat Coast, Jennan Oaks Band, and Gideon’s Daughter, all regionally known artists. Stage will be set up with a modest production system and talent will run 2:30pm until 7pm with breaks to allow for talent to load off and on during that time period.
Pat Coast
A Northwest native and a serious student of blues guitar. Though proficient in many genres including rock and roots rock, R&B, funk, country and acoustic finger style guitar, Pat’s first love remains the blues, which he began learning at age 14 with some old T-Bone Walker and B.B. King records. Since 1992 Pat’s bands have ranged from a seven piece powerhouse band with very tasty horn arrangements down to a lean and mean power trio. Having released five CDs receiving air play on stations from Seattle to Kentucky and national publication reviews, Pat’s taken his act on the road as a favorite request for presenters in dozens of festivals and concerts throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
Gideon’s Daughter has unearthed an almost tangible chemistry on stage with their interpretation of fusing folk, jazz, country, and hints of bluegrass into some type of gypsy musical shuttle. This unlikely trio seems to thrive on abandoning their set list when a more natural ebb and flow presents itself, and it’s during these organic moments that Gideon’s Daughter will surprise even the most reserved listener when he or she glances down to observe their feet and hands tapping to the music.
Jennan Oaks Band If Smokey jazz vocals are among your play list favorites, you won’t want to miss the Jennan Oaks Band. Backed by Alex Krupla on the bass, Dustin Sikstrom on the saxophone & lead guitar, and Mike Johnstone on the drums, this band features original music by Jennan Oaks. They also play a wide variety of covers from artists like Astrud Gilberto, Melody Gardot, Madeleine Peyroux, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s, Imelda May, and more. With groovy jazz inspired tunes, the Jennan Oaks band is sure to set the tone for a romantic evening. You’ll fall in love as the joining of this dynamic group is sure to produce genre favorites for every ear. So bring a date, and come join them for a memorable experience.
