Woodinville, Wash. Northwest Travel Service has announced their 2019 chartered cruise program. The Moselle River, with over 2,000 years of wine production, is a new itinerary for Uniworld Cruises. The nine night cruise is from May 11-May 19, 2019. The cuisine and wine experience will be enhanced with the addition of four Pacific Northwest winemakers, who will be joining guests on the ship as it cruises through the Rhine and Moselle Rivers: Winemaker Kerry Shiels of Côte Bonneville in Sunnyside, Washington, Winemaker Andrew Bandy-Smith of Antiquum Farm in Junction City Oregon,Winemaker Matt Berson of Love & Squalor-Portland Wine Company, and Winemaker Ryan Clifford of Willamette Valley Vineyards.
The Uniworld experience also offers additional shore tours with a focus on local cuisine. While there are significant opportunities to taste the wines of the region, additional excursions to local producers will also be offered. Uniworld utilizes one of the most luxurious ships in the region for this nine-day sailing which begins in Frankfurt, ending in Cologne. The River Queen was voted the best cruise ship by Conde Nast readers in 2012. As expected, this tour includes accommodations, taxes, gratuities, shore tours, meals, and beverages of all types.
Brad Cilley of Northwest Travel Service is selling the package and says “To enhance this program, I’ve added optional tours before and after the main event. Prior to sailing, guests can enjoy a 4-night tour program in the Alsace Region.” Once the cruise is completed, guests will also have the option of a four-night post cruise experience to Bruges, Belgium and Amsterdam.
