Maryhill Winery has expanded its Goldendale estate with the addition of a new 1,200-sqare-foot Reserve Room. This new private tasting room has breathtaking views of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorgeshow and showcases the winery’s portfolio of library wines, as well as rare small lot and limited production wines. Visitors may also purchase their favorite library vintages and limited production wines here.
“We are always looking for ways to grow the offerings for our wine club members and tasting room visitors, and with our towering personal collection of library wines and numerous small lot productions in the works, the Reserve Room was a natural expansion to house these special tastings,” said Craig Leuthold, owner of Maryhill Winery. “It’s the perfect place to re-introduce the wines that have matured beautifully, such as our 2001 Reserve Syrah, and showcase the consistency and progression of our varietals over the years.”
This beautiful addition, built onto the southern-facing side of the winery, is designed for visitors to enjoy at their leisure. It has a private patio, ceiling-high windows and a 100-year-old antique bar (that matches the main tasting room’s signature Brunswick bar). The Reserve Room is an ideal complement to Maryhill’s stay-for-the-day features, including tournament-quality bocce courts, a 3,000 square-foot tasting room and gift shop, and the grape-covered arbor with panoramic views of the spectacular Columbia River Gorge landscape.
The Reserve Room tastings are free for wine club members and $20 for non-members, which can be applied directly to a wine club membership. The Reserve Room will be open seasonally, March 15 to November 15 from noon to 5pm, or by appointment. The space is also available to rent for private events and tastings, and for small meetings and retreats.
