Goldendale, Washington – Maryhill Winery & Amphitheater has announced the lineup for their 2011 summer concert series, sponsored by Sterling Savings Bank. This year’s acclaimed feature artists include YES and STYX, Gipsy Kings, and Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs. 
Tickets for all shows are on sale through Maryhill’s website, with prices ranging from $45 to $49.50 for general admission on the lawn, $65 to $105 for reserved ground seats, and $140 for rail seating on the Tuscan-style arbor with dinner and wine service.
Located 90 minutes east of Portland and built into the natural bluffs of the Columbia River Gorge, Maryhill Winery’s 4,000 seat outdoor amphitheater boasts panoramic views of the stunning scenery and was recently voted a “Best of the Gorge 2010” attraction.
Maryhill Winery was also featured in the Fall 2010 issue of Tasting Room Magazine.
The amphitheater, flanked by stone fruit orchards to the east and the winery and majestic Mt. Hood to the west, has become a flagship experience for those with a passion for wine and music. Concert goers can bring food for a picnic or purchase savory fare from on-site vendors to enjoy with a bottle of award-winning Maryhill wine.
Before the shows begin, visitors can also explore the breathtaking grounds or try their hand at a round of Bocce ball on the new tournament quality courts.

In addition to their summer concert series, Maryhill Winery features free live music and tastings every weekend, all summer long. YES and STYX – July 30 – 7 p.m.
YES – is coming to Maryhill Winery! The progressive rock band formed in London in 1968, generally is regarded as one of the archetypal bands and pioneers of the genre. Despite many lineup changes, occasional splits within the group, and the ever-changing trends in popular music, the band has continued for more than 40 years and still retains a large following. They have sold over 30 million albums. The band’s music blends symphonic and other classical structures with their own brand of rock music.
STYX – Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips (along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo), have performed more live since ’99 than all of the previous years of its career combined. Two Super-Bowl appearances, Pollstar Box Office chart-topping tours with Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company (to name only a few), two more studio albums and no end in sight, STYX continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time. Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, Styx would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late ’70s and early ’80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads and spawned such hit singles and classic rock radio standards as “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Fooling Yourself,” and “Mr. Roboto.”
The Gipsy Kings – August 6 – 7 p.m.
Over the years the Gipsy Kings—whose members hail from the gypsy settlements in Arles and Montpelier in the south of France—have included singers and guitarists from the Reyes (Canut, Nicolas, Pablo and Patchai) and Baliardo families (Diego, Paco and Tonino). Lead singer Nicolas Reyes is the son of famed Flamenco singer José Reyes, who, with Manitas de Plata, sold millions of records in the 1960s and 70s. The band’s vigorous guitar work and passionate vocals are the trademarks of an indigenous musical tradition known as “rumba flamenca.” There are no other examples of a non-English speaking band (the group’s language is the Gypsy dialect of gitane) with such a consistent winning streak in the U.S., where the group is the biggest-selling French act ever. Since the 1987 release of the international hit single “Bamboleo,” from their platinum-selling eponymous debut album, the Gipsy Kings have dominated the World Music charts and sold more than fourteen million albums worldwide—more than four million in the United States alone. Their platinum compilation, The Best of the Gipsy Kings, was on the charts for more than a year.
Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs – September 17 – 7 p.m.
“You just try to pick the songs that are most meaningful to you,” says five time Grammy-winner Michael McDonald about the inspiration for his new album, Soul Speak. “These songs span my life—they’re the ones where I can remember where I was when I first heard them, the ones that made me interested in becoming a recording artist, the songs I’d always imagined myself singing.” Soul Speak is the natural follow-up to McDonald’s two smash explorations of the Motown Records songbook—the platinum-selling Motown from 2003, which was nominated for two Grammy awards, and the next year’s gold-selling Motown Two.
Grammy Award winning artist, Boz Scaggs, and his band will hit the road in 2011, performing the best known songs of his career. Hits that are constantly requested like “Lido Shuffle,” “Lowdown,” and many others will be showcased throughout the tour. Born in Texas and raised with an abiding respect for a wide spectrum of American roots music, Scaggs has combined rock, jazz, R&B and blues to create a trademark sound. With an extensive and distinctive career that has spanned 30 years and many accolades, Scaggs continues to prove himself as one of music’s most creative and original artists.
