Walla Walla, Wash. – L’Ecole N° 41, one of the Walla Walla Valley’s early founding family wineries, announced today that experienced hospitality professional Marta Timoteo has joined the winery as its first Marketing Manager.
Timoteo joins L’Ecole from a confectionary company in the UK, where she served as a brand and category manager. Prior to that, she worked as a food & beverage buyer for an importer in Portugal, where her ability to evaluate market potential and refine pricing strategies was key to the firm’s growth. Her appointment at L’Ecole represents her first wine industry management position.
“Marta brings a high level of professionalism and experience to L’Ecole N° 41, having worked in varied industries with a broad range of responsibilities. Her intelligence and desire to make a difference at L’Ecole are very exciting,” said L’Ecole general manager Constance Savage. “Her strategic mindset will enhance our efforts to continue to grow L’Ecole’s recognition in the market.” Timoteo holds a Master of Science degree in International Business and Management from the University of Manchester (UK) and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from IPAM Lisboa (Lisbon, Portugal), where she finished first in her class, an esteemed achievement. She and her husband relocated to the Walla Walla Valley in 2018.
Housed in the historic Frenchtown schoolhouse depicted on its label, L’Ecole has earned international acclaim for producing expressive, distinctive wines that reflect the unmistakable typicity of Washington State and the unique terroir of their Walla Walla Valley estate vineyards. In 2014, London’s Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) named L’Ecole’s Ferguson Best Bordeaux Blend in the World over £15. In addition to Clubb, wife Megan Clubb and their children Riley Clubb and Rebecca Olson serve on L’Ecole’s board of directors.
