The Festival is Washington’s longest-running judged wine festival, and is the Tri-Cities Wine Society’s annual public event and major fundraiser for its educational fund.
“The Tri-Cities Wine Society is a non-profit organization,” said Society President Ted Davis. “The Festival supports the Wine Society’s mission to educate its members and the public about wine and the wine industry. The Society does this primarily through monthly wine events for its members and their guests, and through its annual public festival,” Davis explained.
“We are very excited about the Festival’s return to the Three Rivers Convention Center,” said Blaine Hulse, Festival co-chairman. “We had a great first year there in 2009, received much positive feedback, and good constructive ideas and suggestions that are helping us continue to improve the Festival and its events,” Hulse explained. “I’m confident these changes will result in an even more memorable Festival this year.”
“Again this year,” said Ted Davis, “the Society is planning to donate funds generated by its events, including the Festival, to the Washington Wine Industry Foundation to provide scholarships for area students in the fields of viticulture and enology.”
The Washington Wine Industry Foundation is a non-profit organization for the Washington wine industry that engages those who care about the wine industry, providing opportunities to enhance scholarships, education, outreach and research.”
