SUMMER CALENDAR
July 19 – Shelby Earl
Earl’s sophomore album Swift Arrows, was released in late-2013 to critical acclaim, and in the words of Benjamin Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie/Postal Service) it “proves [Shelby] has the most heartbreakingly beautiful voice in Seattle.” www.shelbyearl.com.
August 2nd – American Island
‘Origami Eyes’ – the debut album from American Island – is a dark and contemplative affair. It’s a record that’s riddled with depression and despair and which is set in a world of the perpetually cloudy skies of Seattle. American Island is a band that thrives from self-doubt that lives in the shadows, that exists to tear everything down. VIP tickets available at http://columbialiveamericanisland.bpt.me/
August 9th – Susy Sun
A classically-trained pianist and singer/songwriter from the Pacific Northwest, known for infusing classical, pop, and folk [Susy is described as being] “Similar to indie-pop staples Ingrid Michaelson and Sia.” VIP tickets available at http://columbialivesusysun.bpt.me/

August 23rd – Trick Candles
Formed in early 2014, a couple ladies and a few gents got together with the intention of making music that is danceable, yet still has a rock feel all with a little wink into the camera. They draw heavily from pop’s past, (with influences from) The Cure and Psychedelic Furs to name a few. VIP tickets available at http://columbialivetrickcandles.bpt.me/
August 30th – Mikey & Matty
Consisting of brothers Michael and Matthew Gervais and bolstered by the presence of drummer Faustine Hudson and bassist Navid Eliot, their live act brings the carefully-orchestrated arrangements of their recorded music into an environment where the energy of rock and roll is still of preeminent importance. VIP tickets available at http://columbialivemikeyandmatty.bpt.me/
September 5th – Jessie Siren
She has been composing since she was 9 years old, and at age 14 she picked up her first guitar and taught herself to play. At the guitar and piano she connects with her audience and draws them into her stories of heartbreak and loss, love, and lust, and simply life. Often times the room falls silent with her soft sensual performance. VIP tickets available at http://columbialivejessiesiren.bpt.me/
September 13th – Smokey Brights
Rooted in 70’s rock, the band traces lines between new wave, folk, psychedelia, and blue color rock and roll. The band brought their AM-pop-magic to a number of the Northwest’s biggest festivals, including Timber! and Bumbershoot. If Smokey Brights appear to be having a better time than anyone else in the room, it’s because they probably are. VIP tickets available at http://columbialivesmokeybrights.bpt.me/
