Westport Winery will hold its sixth annual Fleur de Lis Festival on June 8, 2014, from noon to 4pm. This celebration of flowers is free to attend and open to all ages. The winery has a local reputation for its extensive iris plantings which are in bloom during the festival.
Jessica Marie Porter and her band will perform live throughout the festival under the gazebo in the Color Wheel Garden. The Westport Art Festival will host Art in the Vines during this event as a precursor to their annual summer art festival at the docks in Westport on August 16 and 17.
The winery will be releasing their latest vintage of Smoky Nor’wester, an award-winning Sangiovese, for this celebration. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the Museum of the North Beach in Moclips.
Check in by 12:45 p.m. for the 1 pm. Backstage Winemaking tour. The price is $5 per person (free to wine club members and guests). Good walking shoes and ability to walk on rough surfaces required.
Bring your favorite pooch to party at Westport Winery’s Best Friends Dog Park. The pups are always welcome at the winery on leash in the gardens and off-leash in the park. Lulu and Curzon are often in attendance.
Westport Winery is home to a unique sculpture garden, lavender labyrinth, musical fence, 9-hole executive golf course, giant chess set, outdoor scrabble game, and grape maze, all located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport. Westport Winery was named Best of the Northwest Wine Tour in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.
The tasting room, gift shop, produce market, plant nursery and bakery are open daily from 11am-6pm. The restaurant is open for lunch daily from 11am-4pm. and for dinner on Friday and Saturday from 4-8pm.
